Topeka Parks & Gardens

Situated in Gage Park, one of the largest parks in Topeka, this sight is well known in the nation as a remarkable smaller zoo. See over 400 animals from around the world, including a pride of lions, a naturalistic bear exhibit, and animals from a tropical rain forest. The zoo boasts many 'firsts', including the first American Golden Eagles to be hatched and raised by their parents in captivity. The Children's Zoo offers play equipment as well as the opportunity to interact with such animals as llamas and sheep. The zoo is open every day except Christmas.

Situated on five and a half acres, Historic Ward-Meade Park is a combination of turn-of-the-century buildings and botanical gardens. View a Victorian mansion as well as a pioneer village. Tours and special programs available. Open 7 days a week.
